A diagnostic is not a judgement day. It is a map. Without it, tutoring becomes generic worksheet time — busy, but poorly aimed.
What we look for
- Foundational gaps that will block current syllabus topics
- How the student approaches unfamiliar questions
- Clarity of written method and mathematical communication
- Timing behaviour and stamina under mild pressure
- Motivation patterns: avoidance, perfectionism, or steady effort
The outcome should be a short teaching plan families can understand: what we will rebuild first, what “progress” will look like in four to six weeks, and which programme intensity fits.
