When a family is anxious, the temptation is to “start teaching immediately.” We resist that urge. Without a diagnosis, we would be guessing which gaps are load-bearing.
What diagnosis protects
It protects the student’s time. It protects parent trust. And it protects the educator from performing activity that looks busy while leaving the real blockage untouched.
- We learn whether the issue is concept, method communication, timing, or confidence
- We match intensity and format to the learner, not a generic package
- We can set a four-to-six-week progress picture families understand
Personalisation is not a slogan. It is a sequence: assess, teach, review, adjust.

What parents should expect after diagnosis
A short written picture of strengths, priority gaps, and a recommended programme shape. If we cannot see a clear teaching path, we say so — better an honest decline than a mismatched start.
